Is this event only for experienced dancers?

Tango Monterey Bay Marathon is designed for experienced social dancers who feel comfortable navigating a crowded dance floor. There are no formal auditions; however, participants are expected to have solid social dance experience and good floor awareness.

Are classes included?

No. This is a dance-focused marathon, not a festival. There are no classes or workshops—just dancing, music, and community.

What is the dress code?

There is no strict dress code. We recommend comfortable, elegant tango attire and shoes suitable for long hours of dancing. Please be mindful of personal hygiene for everyone’s comfort.
On select evenings, we will host themed nights. Participation is optional and meant to add a playful, festive touch—feel free to interpret the themes in your own way.

Can I invite friends who are not registered?

Access to the dance floor and marathon spaces is limited to registered participants only. This helps us maintain a safe and comfortable environment.

Is this a gender-balanced event?

We aim to create a balanced and inclusive environment, though exact balance cannot be guaranteed.

Question 6

Are non-dancing activities included in the pass?

Accepted Answer

No. Activities such as whale watching, hiking, or wine tasting are optional and not included in the marathon pass. Details will be shared separately.

Question 7

I purchased a pass but can’t use it. What are my options?

Accepted Answer

If you are unable to use your pass due to unforeseen circumstances, you may request to use it for a future edition of the marathon or transfer it to another person. All requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and must be approved by the event organizers. Please contact us as soon as possible to discuss your situation.

Can I pay à la carte at the door?

We recommend purchasing a full marathon pass in advance to fully experience the event and guarantee entry. If space allows, a limited number of individual milonga passes (day or evening) may be available at the door. Availability is not guaranteed.

Are there table reservations?

Accepted Answer

Yes. For night milongas only, we offer a limited number of reserved tables, allowing you to sit together with friends and enjoy a guaranteed spot close to the dance floor.
